They're not necessarily scammers. They could just be in over their heads.
The A11FL people weren't capable of pulling it off. I don't think their intention was to scam anyone.
Brandi's league is completely a scam, though. It's never going to happen.

Also I just learned on top of NAFL claiming they will soon be signing recent trimmings from nfl rosters each team will also be allocated between 1 and 3 foreign football players in the initial season and a greater number in the future.

Skeptical. This has really come out of the blue.

I think the fxfl put the cart before the horse in terms of press releases, and sponored articles on (huffington, forbes etc.) and it worked out positivley for them, and even caught the eye of major sports outlets. I always got the impression NAFL were just creating a paper league, and as time went on I think they created a reasonable plan, and regional layout and with the moderate exposure fxfl is getting maybe NAFL decided to give it a try

Yawn. Even with practice squad salaries, they cannot make money. Their salary structure is still going to be totally driven by gate revenue. What is interesting is unless they plan to play within the infoeld of Churchill Downs, or at a Bellermine University, or possibly a JuCo on the Indiana side, the U of L campus sites are their only option. They have a new soccer stadium but it seats under 10K. They cannot make money at Papa Johns Stadium and the grandstands of old Cardinal Stadium was condemned last year. And they want to play in the spring when the public's attention is on both men's and women's Louisville hoops and horse racing. No Louisville city official was contacted about the NAFL's intention. Why not? They also plan a team in Columbus, OH? Why and where? Will Crew Stadium allow them to mess up their pitch? I guess they will play at a nearby D-2 stadium. Raleigh/Durham, NC? Same issue with basketball as the focus of the population, plus even while it was a generation ago, think Raleigh/Durham SkyHawks. Richmond, VA? Where? The Diamond? VCU soccer facility? Lastly, FWIW, the A11FL's former "Senior Editor/Senior VP of Editorial content" has somehow quickly latched onto the NAFL as their, "Chief Sports Writer".

They recently talked about the salaries and they said it will be rounding $95K a year for players. I think you can make a living with a salary like that.
spgpointsperson, get in contact with them and get your answers!

It is not them claiming a salary of $95K, it is their ability to actually fund it which is the main issue.

They recently talked about the salaries and they said it will be rounding $95K a year for players. I think you can make a living with a salary like that. Sure you can. Right up to the point where you stop getting checks. 40 guys at $95k for eight teams is over $30M just in wages for the league. They'd have to sell a million tickets plus at $30 just to pay THAT bill or 16,000 per game for eight home games of eight teams. And that would only cover player wages, not any staff, not travel, not equipment, not stadium rental, not workman's comp, not payroll taxes, not office space, not coaches' salaries, not benefits.... Why do people buy into this fantasy stuff? It's math. Math don't lie.

So you believe the A11FL or USFL would make it but not this league? Don't forget they will not only make money from tickets. You can count merchandise, sponsors, league owners fee, etc., just like the other spring leagues that don't announce anything for months. They don't make revenue only from tickets. Economics don't lie. Another article about the NAFL but this time about the Birmingham Freedom: www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/09/is_city_ready_for_another_pro.html
