To be honest it sounds more like Brian Woods is fishing/hoping for NFL involvement than actual NFL interest. Amazing, (but in no way surprising, given the state of the NCAA and higher ed in general) that so many alt leagues have popped up this year.

There is little information on their website at this point, but two things not in the Forbes article stood out in their press release. 1) They want to play in smaller venues, and specifically mentioned minor league baseball parks. 2) Players will only be eligible to play in the the league for three seasons. fxfl.com/release/

The fact that he's the "objective analyst" just makes me more skeptical. - Assuming this guy is the same Brian Woods, I would've expected a more professional presentation. That website looks like it was designed on a Commodore 64 in 1996. At least the A11 was polished. -The author of this piece is an unpaid contributor.

All of these people who ( a ) Claim there is this huge need for a developmental league or ( b ) Seem to feel they have cracked the code on how to make the finances work ( c ) Are nuts
This is just another vaporware league, most likely.

"Once acquired, players will be allowed a maximum of three playing seasons in the FXFL."
That's optimistic as all hell. Assuming there will be three seasons of the FXFL.

The best way to do a spring developmental league is to have the NFL run it, with league rules, NFL refs. They would have no trouble getting TV deals, but then again remember the WLAF?
