American football is just copying Rugby... Which will be bigger in the United States?

These Townbeef guys are entertaining as hell, but I think a better name is in order. Even something as generic as "North American Rugby Association".

Do they get paid? Essentially 100s of minor leagues are playing, its the pro ones that never kick off

Rugby may have been first and if anything I think American Football is an improved version...but not taking anything away from Rugby. I've heard about this TownBeef a while back on the barstool sports web site, I thought they were on the verge of getting a TV deal for a reality series but never saw it on TV so guess it didn't happen. They're already playing and it looks good so we'll what the future holds.

No-pads American football may be a way to sell the game to countries more accustomed to rugby, soccer, Aussie rules, etc. and put off by the helmets and pads. Would also make the game a lot cheaper.

Exponentially cheaper. I can't imagine trying to startup in a market with no domestic equipment production or access to secondhand gear. The costs must be breathtaking.
