I was beginning to wonder if they'd dropped off the planet. I guess we'll have to see how this plays out.

There was only one quote from that story. Wow!
Omaha and Austin have basically been named, yet the story mentions a third franchise ready to name a coach. And when the story says, "it’s someone with 10-plus years of experience as an NFL coordinator," that means someone who has was fired.
Also, if the coaching staffs would draw from a pool of around $110,000 per team...what/who can you really get at this late in the game to work out of a hotel room who will "develop" players?

The third franchise may be Miami, it's the only other one I've heard specific activity. I wondered about the "NLF coordinator" comment too. It wasn't a quote from Woods, so could he have meant someone with 10 years NLF experience who had at one point been a coordinator? Best guess I've got.

Stand for something hateful?

I'm blaming my typing teacher. And yes I learned to type on a typewriter , I'm old.

I was beginning to think it might stand for "No Longer Fun", but didn't think that made much since cause it didn't have "league" in it. I actually type with just my two pointer fingers, childish, yes, slow, yes, but it seems to work for me.

I totally forgot about Miami being named, mostly because after I read that lease (and posted it here), I realized that it cannot be profitable. They have to find a place to even practice in Miami, where real estate ain't cheap like it is on Austin or Omaha. Former NFL coordinators who are currently jobless include Ted Cottrell (former UFLer) and Monte Kiffin. They may angle to hire coaches who are over 65, just so that those guys get a little extra $$$ than what they get from their 401Ks give them. That is if they actually get paid. Heck, Ed Ogeron is still out there, hire him.
