Hmm...at least this league seems to have stadium deals in place. So can you remind me-Omaha, Miami, what are the other 4 teams?

Which is not a "minor league" stadium, just like that TD Ballpark in Omaha really is not one in itself. The basic FIU stadium lease is here: generalcounsel.fiu.edu/downloads/FIU%20Stadium%20Use%20Agreement%207-09.pdfFIU will fill in some details, but what is not negotiable seems to be: 1-FIU controls all parking revenue. 2-FIU gets a $1.25 charge for each ticket and handles ALL ticketing 3- FIU offers all event personnel but at the cost of the renter. 4- FIU gets all Concessions. Good luck in generating revenue playing on Wednesday nights in Miami-Dade!

It is also the only place to play football in Omaha bigger than a high school stadium.

Wasn't there also an earlier story in which they also talked to the municipality which built the baseball stadium for the AAA Stormchasers facility? I hope you noticed that Austin has yet to name a stadium since Nolan Ryan's company not only run the Dell Diamond, but also started a catering company to control concessions. There has yet to a school district or a council to approve an Austin lease for games. They are already running out of places where they can MAKE a profit, and no team has signed a lease for land have local offices and a place to practice, nor have they announced all teams and NFL training camps are two weeks away.

Yes, I recall they did look at Werner Park as well, but it seems to have been dropped quickly. Probably for the same reason many minor league ballparks wouldn't work. They weren't designed for football, and don't have many good seats for it. Even at TD Ameritrade, they are kind of shoehorned in. I agree with your time assessment. They need to move very quickly this month to even have a shot of making this work.

Good luck in generating revenue playing on Wednesday nights in Miami-Dade! That would be a lease that actually puts you in a WORSE financial position. (Oh, and did you notice the capacity is capped at 16,361 - even though the stadium supposedly seats 23,500 - in paragraph I? Not that the FXFL would get significantly more than that, but they can't now. FIU would get $20,451.25 in the event of a max-capacity situation, while the team would generate $245k if they sold out at an average of $15. Do the math on five home games and see if that makes sense.) Seriously, this is all demonstrating how much acumen these people have. Rushing to get a league that's first to market (even though the market for it is dubious at best) and then signing a lease agreement that almost ensures you will lose a lot of money...who does that?

I just posted the rental agreement which was available online. I will assume that nothing else in the legalese has dramatically changed. While the charges/fees to use the stadium are just added for each event, the details within the agreement really favor the school.

Yes, I see that and thank you for that. It's useful.
This team, should it ever actually play, will bleed out pretty quickly.
