Maybe it's all the merch. they keeping telling us will be available. Wasn't that supposed to be up and running Aug 1? It costs $$$ to produce and inventory that, even if you have an account with a Net 30 agreement. If they plan to sell at the venue, then they may not get a cut. One is not going to be able to rent a practice field (or even a temporary local office) with "merch money". Please. That was meant to be sarcasm.

It's also women's soccer. (The Breakers used to draw really well for what they were selling. They used to have a really good GM.) You should be able to do better than that with any type of football team, but not well enough to pay the freight for a football league. And if they're going to have to place an order for 200ish sets of pads, helmets, pants, jerseys, practice gear, etc. they should probably get on that soon, unless they're just going to go and clean out all the local Dick's Sporting Goods.

34 days to kickoff.
No schedule.
One coach.
No players.
Territorial draft was supposed to be this week.
Not looking good, is it?

That said, at 4PM is when every contract for the 53-man + practice squads become official, thus a true "pool" of potential players is clear. The schedule or lack of one and the inability to purchase tickets are most glaring thing to me.

At what point do you figure they would push back (either to later this fall or next year sometime)?

At what point do you figure they would push back (either to later this fall or next year sometime)? I don't think they would delay till later in the fall. As I recall, the business plan was that all players would be available for NFL teams when the playoff runs started. Of course, they've dumped the rest of the business plan, so what does that matter? A delay til next year would not surprise me a bit at this point. I suspect they don't have a Boston owner, which is why we've heard nothing from them. Do they have the money to run three league owned teams? Hell, do they have the money to run one?

I would imagine a UFL-like pushing back a few weeks would be unlikely, yes. If they're going to play for six weeks and then have a championship game (on or about Thanksgiving weekend), they can't push back too far into December. (There's a November 11 deadline for NFL teams to sign guys they have previously had under their control or have drafted, but apparently not a roster freeze per se that I can find.)
Didn't sgpointperson find their SEC filing where they hadn't raised all the capital they were looking for? It's expensive to do this, even if you do it on the cheap. I think running out of money - which they're likely to do if they try to foot all the bills - would be par for the course, but slightly embarrassing.
Maybe they should hit brandi up for money. S/he posted today that they're really really really going to do this, you guys.

I was thinking that it was actually the Brooklyn team since Woods claimed the "partnership" with the Mets shareholder and the Cycolnes owner. We know that Omaha is in his personal family and South Florida seems to be the runt of the four with nothing coming from them. At least Omama tweets about wanting interns, yet those saps who are looking to get Sports Management degrees have no way to contact them back. Good job!

Well, Woods is back at it on footballscoop.com looking for employees. This time it is for a equipment manager and video coordinator for Brooklyn. www.footballscoop.com/dfo-scoopIt seems that he is doing all hiring, or possibly passing the Omaha duties to his brother. As for Boston, earlier reports said that their GM was Michael Halem, the Harvard alum who is listed on all the FXFL SEC filings as their "COO/CFO".
